In 2023, Reverie Puzzles reached out wondering if I’d be interested in making an illustration of my dog and I in a rainbow colored library so that they could make a puzzle out of it. My grandma tells strangers about this puzzle constantly. It rules.
first i worked on a couple black and white thumbnail compositions and sent them to reverie for feedback
they went with option b!
it was then time to model and collect reference
(my mom is holding a plate of whipped cream in the bowie photo)
after that i make a color thumbnail
these files are usually super tiny, to make sure i don’t zoom in too much and can focus on the colors working from afar.
then i spend a week painting in details and making it look all finished!
